About 2008 Volkswagen Touareg 2
The outside appearance remains true to the Touareg formula introduced in 2003. Large front fenders and wide rear quarter sections combine with exceptionally short front and rear overhangs to create a slightly hunkered down-aggressive stance.
For 2008, standard equipment now includes previously optional Electronic Parking Assistance, Power Liftgate and Sirius Satellite Radio. The 2008 Touareg features a new front seat design with more comfortable front seat side bolsters and new seat stitching design, as well as a sporty, more aerodynamic rear spoiler. New exterior colors added to the 2008 Touareg are White Gold, Galapagos, Alaska Gray and Cranberry.
Engine offerings on the 2008 Touareg include the 3.6-liter V-6, a 4.2-liter V-8 and a V-10 diesel.
The suspension system on all Touareg models is a front double wishbone and four-link, independent rear. The setup handles the twists and turns with ease. Stopping and control during braking is handled by four large, vented discs and a four-wheel anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution. The sure-footed 4XMotion all-wheel drive system includes a low range and adaptive torque distribution for serious conditions -- on or off-road.
The 2008 Touareg includes six airbags -- two front airbags, two side-impact front-seat airbags, and Side Curtain Protection help protect outboard passengers. Break-away foot pedals offer added injury protection for drivers.
